Portraits were
my first love and I feel a little guilty about not doing more of them.
On the other hand, you can't force someone to pose for a portrait and
quite frankly I can't afford to hire models. Ideally I would paint landscapes
all summer and portraits and nudes all winter... in a better world...

just undergone a mastecomy when this portrait was painted. She chose

haven't the slightest idea who this person is, and I'm guessing
about the date. It's a nice portrait, though |

| In
the fall of 2000 I participated in the Attleboro "Millenium Celebration."
I decided to give away 15-minute portrait sketches in oils. These
photos of (I hope!) satisfied customers are the only record I have
of the pieces. |

In
college I painted a self portrait every fifteen minutes. Now I try
to keep it down to once a year. |

| Here
is another quickie portrait giveaway series, this time at the 2002
Fall River Festival of the Arts. Again, these photos are the only
record I have of the pieces. |
